PEPTIVA GHK-Cu META-100 PEN delivers glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper complex (GHK-Cu), a naturally occurring tripeptide-copper complex found in human plasma, saliva, and urine. GHK-Cu has a molecular weight of 403.9 Da and binds copper(II) with high affinity (log K = 16.44). Its concentration in human plasma declines markedly with age โ from approximately 200ng/ml at age 20 to 80ng/ml by age 60 โ a decline that correlates with reduced tissue repair capacity and visible signs of ageing. In published research spanning over 50 years, GHK-Cu has been shown to stimulate collagen synthesis (types I and III), promote decorin production (a proteoglycan that regulates collagen assembly), increase glycosaminoglycan synthesis, promote angiogenesis, and activate wound-healing gene expression. Genomic studies have revealed that GHK-Cu modulates the activity of over 4,000 human genes โ approximately 6% of the human genome โ resetting gene expression patterns in damaged cells to a healthier phenotype. It activates the TGF-beta/BMP signalling pathway, attracts macrophages and mast cells to injury sites, and has demonstrated potent antioxidant activity through upregulation of superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase.
