Kisspeptin-10 10mg Vial

PEPTIVA KISSPEPTIN-10 is the ten-amino-acid C-terminal fragment of the KISS1 gene product, supplied as 10mg lyophilised powder in a sealed research vial.

What it is. Kisspeptins are a family of peptides encoded by the KISS1 gene (named after Hershey, Pennsylvania, where the gene was identified in 1996). They are the natural ligands for the receptor KISS1R, also called GPR54. Kisspeptin-10 is the shortest fragment that retains full receptor activity.

What research investigates. In 2003 two groups showed that people with inactivating KISS1R mutations do not go through puberty, establishing kisspeptin as a key upstream regulator of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). Research since has examined its role in reproductive neuroendocrinology in animal models and in small, supervised human physiology studies.
